- The Lady Flames, who won both the CUSA regular-season and tournament titles in both 2024 and 2025, enter the week in a three-way tie with Delaware and New Mexico State for third in CUSA standings, three games back of second-place WKU. Jax State has clinched the regular-season title and No. 1 seed for the 2026 CUSA Softball Championship, which begins on May 6 in Newark, Del.
- Liberty's last game in Kennesaw, Ga., was an historic one. The Lady Flames downed the Owls 5-4 on May 14, 2021 in the ASUN Softball Championship. That sent Liberty to its first of five straight NCAA Regional appearances.
- Kennesaw State will be looking to snap two separate 15-game losing streaks, both overall and in the series against Liberty. The Owls' last win overall was March 29, a 10-9 home victory over UTEP. The Lady Flames have won each of the last 15 meetings with the Owls since a 5-4 KSU win on April 2, 2021 in Lynchburg.
- Liberty has three Georgia natives on its squad this season who will get to appear in their home state this week in Maci Strickland (Dallas), Camden Anders (Valdosta) and Caitlyn Nesbitt (Dublin).
- Alexia Carrasquillo (.327) leads the Lady Flames in both homers (11) and RBI (42). Freshman Dani Lee bats .351 with six doubles, two homers and 13 RBI. Ella Fox (.302) is the team leader in runs (33) and stolen bases (9). Savannah Jessee (.297) has registered seven homers and 27 RBI, while two-time CUSA Player of the Week Brynn McManus (.287) has posted eight homers and 31 RBI. Two-time CUSA Freshman of the Week Maci Strickland hits .279 with three homers and 24 RBI.
- The Liberty pitching staff has recorded five shutouts this season, with four coming in conference play. Camden Anders (11-6, 3.24 ERA) is 8-3 with a 2.48 ERA in CUSA games. Danner Allen (5-3, 5.82) has posted two shutouts, including a no-hitter at Missouri State, April 3. Gabby Mike (2-10, 4.09) struck out a career-high seven batters, April 2 at Missouri State, while Abigail Findlay (4-2, 4.52) earned the win at No. 13 Virginia Tech, last Wednesday. Two-time CUSA All-Conference pitcher Kaylan Yoder (0-3, 6.53) has returned to the circle, making three appearances to the tune of a 3.23 ERA over Liberty's last 10 games.
