Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
When I stepped onto campus for the first time, I could feel the presence of God. The family atmosphere combined with the beautiful facilities made it impossible to go anywhere else. Being able to grow not only as a student-athlete but also as a child of God makes Liberty so special.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I’m not a very superstitious person, but I do like to have the same routine before games. On my high school team, before every game we would all dance to the song “Praise” by Elevation Worship. It made all the nerves I had go away and reminded me who I was really playing for!
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My coach, Ballard Patterson, is my biggest inspiration. He is fighting stage five neuroendocrine cancer and was my first competitive softball coach. He has shown me how to let kids have fun while competing at the highest levels. He has taught me to play for Christ and helped me to grow my faith in the Lord.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
My sophomore year of high school, we won the first ever state title in our school’s history.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
Raising Cane’s is my favorite place to eat because it was the place me and my friends would always go to celebrate any victory, no matter the size. Also, Cane’s sauce is the best!
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Whoop
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Fishing
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
My dog Oakley is a German Shepard/Beagle/Shar Pei/Great Pyrenees mix.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Rachel Garcia
What is your favorite possession and why?
My Bible, because whenever I have questions, I can always dive into the Word for answers.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
“I Thank God” by Maverick City Music
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Japan, because I’m 1/8 Japanese and I would love to see the culture and try all the foods there.
