With the win, its first-ever victory over Liberty, Louisiana Tech improve to 24-23 on the season, including 10-12 in CUSA play. Meanwhile, the Lady Flames fall to 23-24, 15-7 in conference action.

Turning Point
- The teams played to a 2-2 tie through seven innings, Liberty's first extra-inning game of the season. Both teams got a leadoff baserunner in the eighth, but Camden Anders struck out the last two Bulldogs to end the top half. McManus grounded into a double play in the home half before a Maci Strickland popout sent the game to the ninth.
- Louisiana Tech scored five runs, four of them unearned, in the top of the ninth, capitalizing on two Liberty errors to take a 7-2 lead. Despite getting two hits in the bottom of the ninth, the Lady Flames were unable to make the comeback.
- Louisiana Tech outhit Liberty 9-6, with Liberty committing each of the game's two errors. The Bulldogs left seven on base, while the Lady Flames stranded five.
- Laney Johnson (7-4) earned the win, tossing four innings of two-hit relief and walking one. LA Tech starter Allie Floyd lasted 2/3 of an inning before giving way to Bryannah Campos and then Johnson.
- Camden Anders (11-5) drew the loss, allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits, walking three and striking out five in eight innings. Gabby Mike allowed two unearned runs in 2/3 of an inning before Abigail Findlay struck out the only batter she faced.
- Alannah Rogers batted 4-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored for LA Tech, the only player with a multiple-hit contest in tonight's game. Reagan Marchant doubled and drove in two for the Bulldogs.
- Liberty's Alexia Carrasquillo and Brynn McManus both doubled, while Brynn McManus hit her eighth homer of the season.
- Liberty is now 11-1 all-time against Louisiana Tech in softball, including 9-1 since joining Conference USA prior to the 2024 season. The Lady Flames are 2-1 against LA Tech in extra-inning games all-time, beating the Bulldogs 11-6 in eight innings in 2016 and downing them 2-1 in 10 innings during the 2025 CUSA Softball Championship.
