
Liberty’s Winning Streak Halted by Pitt in 15-6 Loss

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Lady Flames (6-3) saw their six-game winning streak came to an end on the road in a 15-6 loss at Pitt (5-3) on Wednesday evening.
Liberty's Mackenzie Lehman netted three goals in the contest with Olivia Young adding a pair. Ava Rajala added a trio of assists and Taiva Reinertson also registered a goal.
The teams drew even in the first half with two scores apiece. Pitt began to pull away, outscoring the Lady Flames by three with a 5-2 advantage at halftime.
Liberty scored first in the third quarter to narrow the lead to 7-5. The Panthers responded with seven consecutive goals to put the game away. Lehman scored her third goal of the game to stop the run with 3:14 left in the contest.
The Lady Flames fall to Pitt for the first time in program history, winning the previous two contests.
Pitt's Avery Moon led all scorers with four goals. The Panthers capitalized on 10 Liberty cards with five woman-up goals.
