
Liberty Defeats UNCW 4-2 Behind Blair and Sorenson

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Right-hander Ben Blair held UNCW in check over seven innings and first baseman Jaxon Sorenson hit a three-run to give Liberty the lead as the Flames downed the Seahawks 4-2 Saturday afternoon at Brooks Field.
Blair held UNCW to one run on two hits over a career-high seven innings. He struck out six and walked one.
The Liberty right-hander locked in a pitchers' duel with UNCW right-hander Connor Mashburn through the first four innings.
Trailing 1-0 with two out in the fifth, the Flames broke through against Mashburn. With two men aboard, Sorenson belted the first pitch of his at bat over the left field wall for a 3-1 advantage.
Liberty evens the three-game series at 1-1 and moves to 7-3 on the season. UNCW falls to 6-5.
