
UNCW Outlasts Liberty 5-3

After falling behind 5-1, Liberty battled back with runs in the seventh and eighth to trim the host UNCW edge to 5-3. However, the Flames had several chances to tie or take the lead in the contest but could not push the runs across.
Seahawks pitching worked out of bases-loaded jams in the second, seventh and eighth innings.
Liberty reliever Joseph Webb allowed the Flames to attempt a comeback. The final of three pitchers for Liberty in the game, he retired all 10 batters he faced. The right-hander struck out six and did not walk a batter.
The Flames drop to 7-4 in the season. UNCW takes the three-game series, 2-1, and moves to 7-5 on the year.
