LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty (18-20, 11-4 CUSA) takes on Western Kentucky (28-8, 11-4) in a three-game weekend series featuring the two teams tied for second in CUSA standings, Friday through Sunday in Lynchburg.

- The Lady Flames earned a 2-1 series win at Missouri State last weekend, outscoring the Bears 15-1 in a doubleheader sweep on Friday after being shut out on Thursday. Danner Allen tossed a five-inning no-hitter in game three of the series, Liberty's second no-hitter of the season (also Camden Anders at Middle Tennessee, March 14). Liberty then fell to No. 15 Duke, 12-5, on Wednesday.
- WKU brings a six-game winning streak into this weekend, sweeping Sam Houston last week before posting a 5-1 home win over Lipscomb, Tuesday. The Hilltoppers lead CUSA in overall batting average (.340) and ERA (2.59), while Liberty is first in conference-only batting average (.341), followed by WKU in second (.323). WKU features Jenna Blanton (.447) and Annie White (.430), who are second and third, respectively, in CUSA in overall batting average, while Erica Houge (.206) lead CUSA in overall ERA.
- These two teams met in the 2024 CUSA Softball Championship title game, which Liberty won 4-3 on a ninth-inning walk-off double by Savannah Jessee. Last year, Liberty swept WKU in a doubleheader, with the third game getting cancelled due to weather. The Lady Flames won by 10-0 and 10-3 scores, with Liberty hitting seven homers during the doubleheader, including five in game two.
- Brynn McManus was named CUSA Player of the Week for the second time this season, Monday. She batted .714 (10-for-14) with two doubles and five RBI last week, and has posted six straight multiple-hit games. Last Friday, she became the 15th player in program history to reach 100 career RBI.
- Dani Lee has hits in each of her last nine games, tying Ella Fox (March 13-28) for the longest by a Lady Flame so far this season.
- Five Lady Flames hit .300 or better. Alexia Carrasquillo (.345) leads the Lady Flames in both homers (9) and RBI (30). Savannah Jessee (.330) has recorded six home runs and 24 RBI, while Ella Fox (.328) has scored a team-leading 28 runs. Brynn McManus (.315) has recorded seven homers and 29 RBI.
- Camden Anders (9-3, 3.25 ERA) is a perfect 6-0 in Conference USA games after striking out a career-high eight in six shutout innings during a 7-1 win at Missouri State, last Friday. Anders is second in CUSA with a 1.75 conference-only ERA. Danner Allen (5-2, 5.87) has posted two shutouts, including her no-hitter at Missouri State, last Friday. Gabby Mike (2-8, 3.85) struck out a career-high seven batters last Thursday at Missouri State, while Abigail Findlay (1-1, 3.71) posted a three-strikeout inning, Friday.
