
Flames Finish in 3rd Place at Giles-Spratley Collegiate

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – A pair of top 10 finishes by Josh Ryan and Michael Lugiano allowed Liberty to secure its second-consecutive top five finish of the season.
The Flames carded an 11-under par 853 (282-288-283) to secure a third-place finish at the Giles-Spratley Collegiate. The tournament was hosted by Richmond at the Independence Golf Club (par 72, 7,135 yards).
This marked Liberty's second top five finish in a row following a fifth-place finish at the Michael C. Marino Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. (March 15-17).
Charleston ran away with the team title, finishing atop the 14-team leaderboard with a winning score of 29-under par 835 (270-287-278).
FGCU finished just ahead of the Flames in second place with a 16-under par 848 (284-278-286).
Ryan paced Liberty at the tournament, signing for a 7-under par 209 (69-71-69). The senior book-ended his fourth and fifth sub-70 rounds to secure his first top five finish of the season.
Lugiano finished one shot behind Ryan, carding a 6-under par 210 (72-71-67) to finish tied for sixth place. The sophomore tied Charleston's Miles Eubanks for the low final round to record his eighth sub-70 round of the season.
All nine members of Liberty's roster played in the tournament, including four players competing as individuals.
Evan Barbin posted his best finish of the season, posting a 4-under par 212 (68-74-70) to individually finish tied for ninth place.
Brett Reid signed for his lowest 54-hole total of his senior season, carding a 2-under par 214 (70-71-73) to finish tied for 17th place.
The Flames will play their final regular season event of the 2025-26 season when they travel up 29 North to compete at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial in Charlottesville, Va., next Monday and Tuesday.
