
Lugiano Named to 2026 PING All-Region Team

Following a highly successful sophomore campaign, Liberty's Michael Lugiano has been named to the 2026 PING All-Region team.
Lugiano was one of 25 players named to the PING All-Region East team and joins 150 total honorees from around the country from 81 different NCAA Division I programs.
With Lugiano's selection to the PING All-Region team, Liberty has had a golfer named to the All-Region team each of the last 17 seasons. A total of 15 different players have been named to a PING All-Region team in program history, with 27 total All-Region honorees.
Lugiano had a banner season for Liberty, which propelled the Flames onto a Conference USA title and himself individually onto the national scene.
The native of Jackson Township, Pa., led the Flames with a 70.61 season stroke average, which was the second lowest scoring average in program history.
Lugiano played 27-of-38 rounds at par or better in 2025-26 (71.1 percent) and posted 14 sub-70 rounds.
The sophomore helped the Flames capture their second Conference USA title in the last three seasons and the ninth conference title in program history.
Liberty's CUSA title pushed the Flames back into NCAA Regional play for the 15th time in program history and 13th time in the last 15 seasons.
The Flames finished the NCAA Corvallis Regional tied for fifth place and saw Lugiano win the regional event with a 12-under par 201.
The individual victory at the NCAA Corvallis Regional earned Lugiano an individual spot at the NCAA Men's Golf National Championship where he finished tied for 47th place with an even par 216.
This marked the fourth best individual finish in Liberty's five different appearances at the national championship (Team: 2012, 2019, 2021 and 2022 | Individual: 2026).
