LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty (7-15), coming off of a 12-game homestand, begins an eight-game road swing on Tuesday, taking on James Madison (12-10) at 4 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

- The Lady Flames and Dukes met in a memorable 2021 NCAA Knoxville Regional final. Both teams defeated the host Tennessee, before JMU sparked its WCWS run with an 8-5 win over Liberty in the Regional final. Liberty has won both meetings since then, including a 2-1 victory on March 4, 2025.
- Liberty was predicted as the favorite in the 2026 CUSA Softball Preseason Coaches Poll, while James Madison was voted to finish seventh in the Sun Belt Coaches Poll.
- Liberty's Paige Doerr, Savannah Jessee, Savanah Whatley and Kaylan Yoder were all voted to the CUSA Softball Preseason All-Conference Team, while JMU's Payton List and Cali Legzdin were both named to the Sun Belt Preseason All-Conference Team.
- The Lady Flames opened up Conference USA play at home this past weekend, going 1-2 against Jacksonville State. Heading into this season, Liberty had won each of its first 17 Conference USA series since joining the league prior to the 2024 season. Liberty has won both the CUSA regular-season and tournament championships each of its first two years in the conference.
- James Madison went 3-2 at the Hokie Invite over the weekend, beating Bryant, Penn State and Radford while falling to Boston College and No. 11 Virginia Tech.
- Alexia Carrasquillo batted .556 with two doubles and a homer in the Jax State series, while Savannah Jessee hit .400 with a homer and three RBI and Maci Strickland (.375) and Savanah Whatley both hit over .300 for the series. Carrasquillo hit .405 during the 12-game homestand, with Jessee hitting .375 and driving in 12 runs.
- Carrasquillo bats .355 for the year, with three homers and 13 RBI. Jessee (.324) leads the Lady Flames with 15 RBI, while North Carolina transfer Ella Fox (.306) has scored a team-leading 14 runs. Redshirt freshman Maci Strickland has thrived at third base, batting .250 with one homer and seven RBI.
- Seven different pitchers have seen action in the circle for Liberty this season. Danner Allen (3-1, 4.79 ERA) leads the Lady Flames with three victories. Duke transfer Gabby Mike (1-6, 4.06) allowed no earned runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched last week. Abigail Findlay (1-1, 3.75 ERA) has a .152 opponents batting average in 9 1/3 innings this season. Camden Anders (2-1, 4.30) earned her first career save, Saturday against Jax State.
