Turning Point

- Jax State threatened to score in each of the last three innings. In the top of the fifth, Abigail Findlay came in and stranded runners on second and third with back-to-back strikeouts. Camden Anders fanned two with two runners on in the sixth, and then got Aria Davis to fly out with the bases loaded in the seventh to end the game.
- Liberty led 5-2 in hits, with both teams recording one error. Jax State left 10 runners on base, compared to four stranded by the Lady Flames. The Gamecocks left seven on base spanning the final three innings.
- Danner Allen (3-1) earned the win, allowing one run on one hit, walking three and fanning four in 4 1/3 innings. Findlay walked three and struck out two in 2/3 of an inning, while Camden Anders picked up the save with two innings of one-hit softball during which she walked two and fanned two.
- Mackinley Portillo (3-4) drew the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) and five hits, walking one and striking out one.
- Alexia Carrasquillo went 3-for-3 with a double, home run, one RBI and two runs scored for Liberty.
- Emma Elrod recorded both of Jax State's hits.
- Liberty is now 9-3 all-time against Jax State in softball, with the Lady Flames going 8-2 against the Gamecocks since joining Conference USA. The Lady Flames defeated Jax State 8-0 in five innings in the final game of the 2025 CUSA Softball Championship.
- Today's eight strikeouts by the Lady Flames tied a season high, as they also struck out eight Syracuse batters on Feb. 21.
- Carrasquillo recorded her third career three-hit game and second this season (also Feb. 28 versus Marshall).
- Anders registered her first career save.
- Paige Doerr became the first Lady Flame since Mary Claire Wilson (March 22, 2023 at North Carolina) to record two sacrifice bunts in the same game.
