
Liberty Set for Weekend Series at Middle Tennessee

LYNCHBURG, Va. -Â Liberty (7-15, 1-2 CUSA) embarks on back-to-back away conference series, beginning Friday through Sunday at Middle Tennessee (12-10, 3-0). Following the Middle Tennessee series, Liberty heads to El Paso, Texas for a three-game set at UTEP.Â

- The Lady Flames are coming off of a comeback, 9-8 win at James Madison on Tuesday during which Liberty hit back-to-back-to-back homers in a five-run sixth inning. The Blue Raiders swept Kennesaw State to open conference play, with Lucie McDonald being named CUSA Freshman of the Week.
- With its 9-8 win at JMU on Tuesday, Liberty is 3-0 in one-run games so far this season, and four out of the team's eight wins overall have been of the comeback variety.
- Liberty was predicted as the favorite in the 2026 CUSA Softball Preseason Coaches Poll, while Middle Tennessee was selected ninth.
- The Lady Flames are 5-1 against the Blue Raiders since joining Conference USA. Liberty swept Middle Tennessee in 2024 before earning a 2-1 series win in Lynchburg last season.
- Liberty opened up Conference USA play at home last weekend, going 1-2 against Jacksonville State. Heading into this season, Liberty had won each of its first 17 Conference USA series since joining the league prior to the 2024 season. Liberty has won both the CUSA regular-season and tournament championships each of the last two years. Middle Tennessee won the CUSA tournament title in 2023.
- Alexia Carrasquillo batted .556 with two doubles and a homer in the Jax State series, while Savannah Jessee hit .400 with a homer and three RBI and Maci Strickland (.375) and Savanah Whatley both hit over .300 for the series. Carrasquillo hit .405 during the 12-game homestand, with Jessee hitting .375 and driving in 12 runs.
- Carrasquillo bats .348 for the year, with four homers and 16 RBI. Jessee (.324) and Carrasquillo are tied for the team lead with 16 RBI, while North Carolina transfer Ella Fox (.306) has scored a team-leading 14 runs. Returning CUSA all-conference first team selection Brynn McManus homered at James Madison, recording her second straight two-hit game.
- Seven different pitchers have seen action in the circle for Liberty this season. Danner Allen (3-1, 5.60 ERA) and Georgia Tech transfer Camden Anders (3-1, 4.29) are tied for the team lead with three victories apiece. Duke transfer Gabby Mike (1-6, 4.25) allowed no earned runs in 8 1/3 innings pitched last week. Abigail Findlay (1-1, 3.75 ERA) has a .152 opponents batting average in 9 1/3 innings this season.
