
Lady Flames Seek Statement Victory at No. 20 Richmond

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's lacrosse (1-2) team looks to pick up a marquee road victory this Saturday at No. 20 Richmond (2-1). The matchup is set for 1 p.m. from Robins Stadium and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Lady Flames picked up their first triumph of the season last Saturday in Richmond, Va. with a 15-8 triumph over VCU. The Spiders are coming off their first setback of the season following a 21-11 loss to No. 17 Navy on Tuesday.
Liberty attacker Ava Rajala and defender Jenna Burrow were awarded the Atlantic Sun Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors for their efforts against VCU.
Rajala added four goals and two assists including back-to-back scores in the fourth quarter. The attacker added two caused turnovers and a ground ball with a game-high eight shots. Rajala is tied for the team lead with six goals and two assists, pacing the Lady Flames with eight points this spring.
Burrow sparked the Liberty defense with career-highs with eight ground balls and six caused turnovers. The junior also netted her second goal of the season on her only shot attempt. Burrow leads the Lady Flames with 11 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in three games this season.
Goalkeeper Rachel Hines has made every start this season, eclipsing her two starts from the 2024 season. Hines (1-2) has made 28 saves this season on 93 shots faced, good for a a.373 save percentage and a 17.09 goals-against average (47 goals allowed).
Liberty seeks its first-ever victory over Richmond in its 11th all-time meeting with the Spiders. The Lady Flames fell 18-11 at home to No. 18 Richmond on Feb. 24 last spring.
