
No. 3 Liberty Concludes Run with 17-3 Loss at No. 2 Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 2026 Liberty Lacrosse season (8-11) came to an end on Thursday night as the No. 3 seed Lady Flames fell 17-3 at ASUN Championship host, No. 2 seed Jacksonville (12-5) in the semifinal. The Dolphins advance to the final to take on No. 1 seed Delaware on Saturday.
The Lady Flames managed to score two goals in the second quarter, including one woman-up goal, but faced challenges throughout the match. Jacksonville's relentless offense capitalized, securing the victory with a consistent scoring effort in every quarter. Liberty's record now stands at 8-11, 5-3, while Jacksonville improved to 12-5, 7-1.
Olivia Young scored once on two shots, converting one successful attempt from a free position. Katie Colavito contributed a goal and a draw control, with her goal coming from a free-position shot. Sophia Nesci added an assist to Kendall Coss on a free-position attempt while also collecting two ground balls in the contest. Madeleine Klunder was active defensively, securing three ground balls and causing a turnover.
Liberty aimed to defend its 2025 ASUN title, but came up short after securing a quarterfinal triumph over Kennesaw State. The Lady Flames graduate 12 seniors this May as they prepare for the 2027 season.
