
Liberty Volleyball Set for Road Test at UTEP

Liberty (14-1, 2-0) carries a 10-match winning streak into a weekend matchup at UTEP (12-2, 2-0). It is the only CUSA series this weekend where both teams are 2-0 in conference play.

- The Lady Flames are tied with BYU for the most wins of any NCAA Division I volleyball program so far this season, at 14-1. Only Nebraska (12-0) and Texas (11-0) have better winning percentage than Liberty.
- Liberty (Rutgers, Houston) and UTEP (Arizona) both have Power Four wins on their resume this season. Entering the weekend, UTEP (.299) and Liberty (.285) rank first and second in CUSA in attack percentage.

- On Aug. 30, Liberty overcame a 2-0 deficit for the first time since 2016, beating Rutgers. Liberty's six five-set wins are its most since posting six five-set victories during the full 2012 season.
- Liberty's .440 hitting percentage against LA Tech was its sixth best single-match attack percentage in the rally-scoring era and best since hitting .461 (41-6-76) against Elon, Sept. 7, 2019.
- Liberty is the only CUSA team with three players (O'Brien, Otts, Overcash) averaging 3.0 kills per set or more.
- Jeremy White begins his first season at Liberty. He served as head coach at Southeastern Louisiana for the last six years, posting a 113-58 record and leading the Lions to two NCAA Tournaments. Last year, Southeastern posted a nation-leading 24-match winning streak.
- Former Tulsa head coach Ryan Wills (2014-22) serves as an assistant coach. Mackenzie Martin is in her first year as an assistant coach after finishing her playing career at The Citadel last season.
- Liberty welcomes 11 newcomers this season, including four transfers. Graduate students Zoe Hall (TCU) and Shyia Richardson (Louisiana) join the Lady Flames, along with junior Molly Littlefield (Gardner-Webb) and sophomore Layla Collins (Virginia Tech).
- Freshman Kayla O'Brien joins her older sister, sophomore Carly O'Brien, on the Lady Flames' roster. They are the first pair of sisters to play for Liberty Volleyball in the same season since Abby and Kate Phillips in 2021.
