LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty volleyball head coach Jeremy White and his staff have announced the addition of Turkiye native Melis Nida Ural to the team's 2026 roster.
She will join an incoming class which also features transfer VB Trost (South Carolina) along with freshmen Natalie Langston, Keira Rosenmarkle and Jana Thymes, who signed in the fall.
Melis Nida Ural (Libero, 5-6, Istanbul, Turkiye)
Melis Nida Ural joins the Lady Flames from Istanbul, Turkiye, where she is a libero for VakifBank, the top club volleyball team in the nation. Nida Ural has gained international playing experience, competing for the Turkiye U20 National Team. She has also helped her U19 squad to a runner-up finish in league championships.
Head Coach Jeremy White: "I am extremely excited to add Melis to our gym this year. She's an awesome kid who fits our program culture really well on top of being a product of the top volleyball club in Turkey, VakifBank, who is also ranked among the best volleyball clubs in the world. Melis was the starting libero for the U19 team where she helped her team take 2nd in their league championships and was recently selected to Turkey's U20 National Team. All in all, I'm excited for her to bring her energy, experience and championship level pedigree to our program."
Liberty finished with a 20-10 record during the 2025 season under first-year Head Coach Jeremy White. The Lady Flames posted their first wins in program history over a Big Ten team (Rutgers) and a Big 12 team (Houston).
