Miranda scored in the fifth minute of the contest to kick off the night. Sallie Garner sent in a cross towards the opposite end of the goal box. Miranda settled the ball with two touches, finding space to send the shot past Delaware's Kyla Burns for the early lead.
The Blue Hens played well to end the first half but could not equalize before heading to the locker room. Liberty's Ava Goodman received a red card in the 61' minute, forcing Liberty to play a player down the rest of the game.
Delaware capitalized on the player-up advantage, equalizing the contest in the 77' minute off a blast from Willa Pratt. The goal was Pratt's first of the season.
Liberty responded with a well-timed counterattack five minutes later, forcing a corner off a press by Ivy Garner. Elise Graf sent the ball to the near side of the goal box. Monteith charged the ball for a header and found a seam past multiple bodies to put the Lady Flames ahead. The goal was Monteith's first of the season.
The Lady Flames held off a consistent press from the Blue Hens to secure their fifth straight win to start the season.
