Liberty Improves to 6-0 to begin 2024 with 3-0 Shutout Over Longwood

Liberty recognized four members of its 2024 senior class before the game. Goalkeeper Ainsley Leja and midfielders Lysie Findley, Briana Myers and Taylor Mason were honored in a pregame ceremony.
Engle scored her fourth score of the season in the 16' minute of the game. The forward forced a turnover at the top corner of the penalty box and snuck a shot by a charging Longwood goalkeeper Sara Curtis. Each of Engle's goals this season has been the first score in the contest.
Fifteen minutes later, Gabby Miranda found freshman Noblit with space at the top of the penalty box. The midfielder netted her first career goal, sending a shot to the far side of the goal.
Both teams swapped goalkeepers at halftime with Liberty's Grace Workman, a transfer from Longwood this spring, entering for Peyton Huber.
Wedemeyer, a freshman, scored to extend the lead from the middle of the attacking zone. Ivy Garner released a shot that was saved by the Longwood goalkeeper Sadie Kerns and bounced directly to Wedemeyer. The midfielder blasted a shot that beat the Lancers goalkeeper in the upper-left corner of the goal.
Liberty limited Longwood to zero shots in the second half to seal the 3-0 home triumph.
