
Liberty to Host Delaware, Honor Its Seniors Against Longwood This Weekend

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty women's soccer prepares for back-to-back home contests at Osborne Stadium, hosting Delaware (0-3-1) Friday at 6 p.m. and Longwood (0-2-1) Sunday at 6 p.m. The Lady Flames (4-0) plan to honor their 2024 senior class in a pre-game ceremony on Sunday.
The Lady Flames will recognize goalkeeper Ainsley Leja and midfielders Lysie Findley, Briana Myers and Taylor Mason. The four-member senior class joined the program in 2021.
Friday's contest against Delaware provides a future conference preview. Delaware, along with Missouri State, plans to join Conference USA in the 2025-26 academic year.
This weekend's meetings will be the final home games before the Lady Flames set off for five consecutive road matchups. Liberty returns to Osborne Stadium on Sept. 27 to face FIU.

- Freshman Avery Paulson led Liberty with four points for the week. The forward tallied her first career goal, scoring the game-winner against VCU.
- The Lady Flames have collected a 4-0 mark to kick off the season. Liberty started the 2023 season with an 11-0 record.
- Liberty was among the teams receiving votes (6) in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll (Aug. 27).
- Forward Halle Engle leads the team with seven points (3 goals, 1 assist). The redshirt sophomore saw her point streak end on Sunday at six games (3 goals, 5 assists) dating back to Oct. 27, 2022. Engle missed the entire 2023 season due to an injury.
- Engle leads CUSA and ranks No. 15 in the country with five shots per game.
- Liberty has assisted 11 times on 10 goals. The Lady Flames rank No. 21 in the nation and lead CUSA in total assists and assists per game (2.75). Liberty (4-0) is the only CUSA program with a perfect record.
- The Lady Flames pace CUSA with 10 goals and rank No. 25 in the country with 31 total points.
- Goalkeepers Grace Workman (four starts) and Peyton Huber have split time evenly. Workman has yet to concede a goal in her collegiate career (190 minutes).
