
Ryan Leads Flames With Top-25 Finish at Sea Best Invitational

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Josh Ryan posted his fourth top-25 finish of the season to lead the Flames at the Sea Best Invitational, Liberty's first event of its spring season.
The sophomore finished tied for 21st place with a 6-over par 216 (72-73-71) following three challenging rounds at the TPC Sawgrass – Dye's Valley Course (par 70. 6,790).
Only five players in the 84-man field managed to finish the Jacksonville-hosted tournament in red figures. The par-70 course played at a 73.62 stroke during the 54-hole event.
As a team, Liberty finished the final round in the same position it entered. The Flames finished the tournament in 11th place with a 39-over par 879 (293-294-292).
Ryan made the turn during the final round at 3-over par but rebounded to post a clear card on the back nine that included two birdies and seven pars to climb up the leaderboard. He finished the 54-hole event with eight birdies and tied for team-high honors with 32 pars.
Ryan was followed on Liberty's team leaderboard by Evan Barbin, who finished tied for 37th place with a 10-over par 220 (75-72-73). Barbin's best finish of the 2023-24 season was aided by a team-high nine birdies and one of Liberty's two eagles during the event.
No. 26 Florida won the event for the second year in a row, posting a winning score of 2-over par 842 (286-276-280). The Gators finished three shots clear of North Florida's 5-over par 845 (288-281-276).
