Turning Point
Liberty wasted no time out of the gate, scoring a pair of goals in the first 3:44. Milagros Arteta found the back of the cage on a setup from Tuti Dell Anna just 1:29 into the game for a 1-0 lead for the visitors. Just over two minutes later (3:44 mark), Lou Combrinck drove the baseline and found Ellie Livingston in front of the cage for a 2-0 advantage.
After Longwood's Zoe Tierney cut the Liberty lead in half (2-1) with a penalty corner goal later in the first quarter, the Lady Flames answered with two more goals of their own in the second frame to open a 4-1 lead heading into the half. The first of those two goals from Arteta, who scored from the right side of the circle. With just over a minute remaining in the opening stanza, Kyleigh Faust scored her first collegiate goal on a penalty stroke to send the Lady Flames into the break with a 4-1 edge.
Liberty tacked on three more goals in the second half for the six-goal margin of victory.
