
Liberty Cruises to Senior Night Sweep of Louisiana Tech

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty hit a season-best .376 for the match, sweeping Louisiana Tech (25-6, 25-16, 25-17), Thursday at Liberty Arena.
With the win, their third in a row, the Lady Flames improved to 14-11, 7-6 in CUSA matches. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs fell to 6-19, 1-12 in conference play with their eighth straight setback.

- For the match, Liberty outhit Louisiana Tech .376 to .099. The Lady Flames led in kills (44-24), assists (42-22), aces (11-3), digs (58-43) and blocks (58-43).
- Kate Phillips led all players with 16 kills (.455) and tied for the match high with 15 digs. Meanwhile, seniors Ananda Patterson and Zoi Sherolli both scored a season-high eight kills. Sherolli served up four aces and collected eight digs. Delaney Dilfer dished out a match-high 36 assists while Julia Mangum contributed a career-high six aces and nine digs. Erica Lowery collected a match-high 15 digs.
- Carla Esquer led Louisiana Tech with six kills, while Riley Steubing served up three aces, Grace Krohn totaled 13 assists and McKenzie Johnson collected 14 digs.
- The Lady Flames never trailed in the match, with Louisiana Tech tying the score twice early in the first set for the only two ties of the contest.
- Liberty has tied the all-time series at 1-1 with Louisiana Tech, as the Bulldogs won the only previous meeting 3-0 on Sept. 10, 2004 in Austin, Texas.

- The Lady Flames hit .600 (12-0-20) in set one, its best hitting percentage in a single set since hitting .609 (16-2-23) in set one against Jacksonville on Oct. 14, 2022.
- Phillips recorded her sixth double-double of the season and 24th for her career, while taking over the team lead with her 15th double-digit kill match of the season. She has connected for at least 15 kills in each of the last three matches and four of the last five.
