
Liberty Lacrosse Closes Regular Season Hosting Delaware

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty (7-9, 5-2 ASUN) will host conference unbeaten, Delaware (11-4, 7-0 ASUN) in its final regular season contest of the 2026 season on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
The Lady Flames have secured the No. 3 seed in the 2026 Atlantic Sun Championship and will play the No. 6 seed on Tuesday, April 28 at 6 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla. Delaware has secured at least a bye in the championship and will be competing for sole possession of the 2026 ASUN Regular Season title.
Liberty is coming off three consecutive ASUN victories including two last week on the road at Coastal Carolina (10-4) and at Queens (19-9). With their standout performances last week, Ava Menna (Defensive) and Ava Rajala (Offensive) secured both ASUN Player of the Week awards. The victories secured Liberty a 6-1 record on the road this season.
Delaware is in its first season as members of the Atlantic Sun conference. The program has left a huge impression in its first season as the only undefeated in conference play.
The Lady Flames seek just its second home triumph of the season, currently 1-8 in Lynchburg. Liberty eyes its first win of the season, currently 0-8 in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames have hosted four ranked opponents (No. 8 Johns Hopkins, No. 19 Notre Dame, No. 24 Virginia No. 25 Richmond) at home this spring, along with powerhouse lacrosse programs in JMU and Jacksonville.

· Following a 10-point performance (4g, 6a) on Saturday, Ava Rajala now leads the team in both points (56) and assists (33) along with 23 goals.
· Midfielder Katie Colavito leads the Liberty offensive and defensive attack with 41 goals and 35 caused turnovers.
· Freshman Sophia Nesci ranks second on the team with 36 goals, 19 assists and 55 points. She has scored in all but one game this season, including a streak of six straight contests tallying multiple goals (Feb. 28-March 26).
· Hines ranks No. 12 nationally with 139 saves this season and No. 24 in the country with 8.69 saves per game. She carries season-long totals of a 11.48 goals-against average and a .436 save percentage on 371 shots faced.
· Liberty leads the country with 16.81 caused turnovers per game and with 20.88 ground balls per game. Madeleine Klunder leads the team with 36 ground balls.
· Olivia Young (30g, 14a) has scored a goal in 10 consecutive contests.

· Rajala is currently tied for second in most assists in a single-season (33) in program history with Kayla Foster (2017) and Morgan Becker (2015). She needs six assists to pass Kayle Foster (38, 2018) for the top spot.
· With 73 career assists, Rajala currently ranks third for most assists in program history. She needs six assists to pass Carly White (77, 2017-21) for second. The top spot is held by Kayla Foster (2016-19) with 129 total assists.
· Colavito currently ranks sixth all-time in program history with 125 goals. She could soon pass Morgan Becker (127, 2012-15), Nina Dunay (128, 2011-15) and Brianna McCaffrey (128, 2016-19). The top spots are held by Mackenzie Lehman (170, 2021-25) and Cami Merkel (141, 2022-25).
· With 41 goals, Colavito is approaching the top 5 for most goals in a single season in program history. She needs five goals to pass Cami Merkel (45, 2023).
