With the win, Liberty (20-20, 13-4 CUSA) claims the series and will attempt a sweep tomorrow. WKU falls to 28-10, 11-6 in conference play with the loss. The Lady Flames and Hilltoppers entered the series in a tie for second in CUSA standings. Liberty is now in sole possession of second place, two games behind Jacksonville State (15-2) and two games ahead of WKU (11-6).

Turning Point
- Liberty built a 3-0 lead after two innings. Alexia Carrasquillo drove in both Dani Lee and Ella Fox with a first-inning double, and Fox added an RBI single in the second.
- WKU left a total of 11 runners on base, failing to score a single run and having three runners thrown out on the bases.
- Gabby Mike entered the game with one out and two on and Liberty leading 4-0 in the sixth. She earned a five-out save.
- For the second game in a row, WKU outhit Liberty. Today, the Hilltoppers outhit the Lady Flames, 6-3. The teams combined to issue 17 free passes, with WKU walking nine and Liberty, eight.
- Abigail Findlay (2-1) earned the win, pitching 2 1/3 innings of one-hit softball, walking three and fanning one. Gabby Mike earned the save while pitching 1 2/3 innings, allowing one hit and one walk. Liberty starter Danner Allen pitched three innings, yielding four hits and four walks while striking out two.
- Rylan Smith (8-5) drew the loss, allowing four runs on three hits, walking nine and fanning five.
- Alexia Carrasquillo went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI for Liberty, while Maci Strickland (1-for-2) tripled and drove in one run. Ella Fox batted 1-for-3 with one RBI and one run.
- Jenna Blanton batted 2-for-4 for the Hilltoppers, while Maci Masters (1-for-2) doubled.
- Liberty leads the all-time series against WKU in softball 7-4, with the Lady Flames winning each of the last seven meetings.
