WKU improves to 29-10 with the win, including a 12-6 mark in CUSA play. Meanwhile, the Lady Flames (20-21, 13-5) won the series two games to one, downing the Hilltoppers both Friday (3-2) and Saturday (4-0).
The Lady Flames and Hilltoppers entered the weekend in a tie for second in CUSA standings. Liberty is now in sole possession of second place, one game ahead of WKU.

Turning Point
- WKU broke a 2-2 tie on Lauren Satterly's two-run homer in the top of the fifth. The Hilltoppers also took advantage of a Liberty error in the sixth to add two more runs.
- The Lady Flames had runners on second and third with nobody out in the bottom of the sixth, but two fielder's choice grounders eliminated both Brooke Roberts and Savanah Whatley trying to score at the plate. A flyout ended the inning with WKU leading 6-2.
- Both teams recorded nine hits, with Liberty committing the game's lone error. The Lady Flames left 11 runners on base, while the Hilltoppers stranded eight.
- Erica Houge (16-4) earned the win, allowing two runs on nine hits, walking three.
- Losing pitcher Camden Anders (10-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits, walking three and striking out three in 4 2/3 innings. Kaylan Yoder, starting for the first time since Feb. 28 versus UConn, allowed two runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings, fanning one.
- Maci Masters went 2-for-3 with a homer, two RBI and one run scored for WKU, while Lauren Satterly batted 1-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and one run. Kendle White and Anna Mauck both recorded two hits.
- Savannah Jessee batted 2-for-4 with a double, homer, two RBI and one run for Liberty, while Paige Doerr (2-for-3), Brooke Robers (2-for-3) and Maci Strickland (1-for-4) all doubled. Ella Fox went 2-for-4.
- Liberty leads the all-time series against WKU in softball 8-4, with the Lady Flames winning seventh straight meetings prior to today. The Hilltoppers' last win over Liberty before today was a 1-0 victory on April 5, 2024 at Liberty Softball Stadium.
- The Lady Flames have won 22 out of 23 Conference USA regular-season series since joining the conference prior to the 2024 season.
- Today was the second time this week in which Jessee had two extra-base hits in the same game. She recorded a double and a triple against Duke on Wednesday.
The Lady Flames conclude their five-game homestand on Wednesday at 6 p.m., welcoming nationally-ranked Virginia Tech at Liberty Softball Stadium.
