
Lady Flames Set for Liberty Softball Invitational

Liberty (5-9), winner of four out of its last five games, continues its 12-game homestand, hosting the Liberty Softball Invitational. The Lady Flames meet Radford (2-8) in a doubleheader on Friday before taking on Marshall (9-8) and 2025 BIG EAST champion UConn (3-11), Saturday.

- The Lady Flames went 3-1 at the Liberty Softball Classic, splitting a pair of games with Syracuse while beating both Toledo (7-2) and Maryland (3-2). Liberty outhit opponents .321-.216 while outscoring them by a combined 20-9. Katie Love and Danner Allen combined for Liberty's first shutout of the season, a four-hitter, in a 7-0 win over Syracuse on Saturday night.
- Redshirt junior catcher Savannah Jessee batted .600 (9-for-15) with three doubles, one homer and
- seven RBI last weekend, being named CUSA Player of the Week on Monday. She posted her first career four-hit game, Friday against Syracuse. Prior to Monday, Rachel Roupe had won Liberty's last nine conference player of the week honors dating to the 2023 season.
- Jessee hits .372 for the season to lead the team, while North Carolina transfer Ella Fox (.350) has
- scored a team-high 13 runs. Alexia Carrasquillo (.300) is tied with Jessee for the team lead with 10 RBI. Jessee, Fox and Carrasquillo all carry five-game hitting streaks into this weekend. Maci Strickland bats .273, while Paige Doerr hits .262 and Brooke Roberts, .259
- Seven different pitchers have seen action in the circle for Liberty this season. Georgia Tech transfer Camden Anders (2-0, 3.75 ERA) pitched her first career complete game in a 3-2 win over Maryland, Saturday. Abigail Findlay (1-0, 4.20) earned a victory in her first career start, Friday against Toledo. Duke transfer Gabby Mike (1-5, 4.93) leads the team in starts and innings pitched. Danner Allen (4.67) pitched six shutout innings against Syracuse on Saturday, striking out seven for her first win of the year. Two-time all-conference pitcher Kaylan Yoder earned the save on Friday against Toledo.
- Liberty was predicted to win its third straight CUSA title in the preseason coaches' poll, while catcher Savannah Jessee, infielder Savanah Whatley, pitcher Kaylan Yoder and outfielder Paige Doerr were all named to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team.
