Liberty, off to a 3-0 start for the second time in the last three seasons, competes in the West Virginia Invitational this weekend against Coppin State, West Virginia and North Dakota.

- The Lady Flames are led by first-year head coach Jeremy White, who coached Southeastern Louisiana to back-to-back SLC titles in 2022 and 2023. He is the first head coach in program history to win each of his first three matches at the helm.

- Overcash ranks second in CUSA with a .473 attack percentage. She scored a career-high 16 kills at a .556 clip against Rutgers.
- Also recording career highs in kills in the Rutgers match were Carly O'Brien (13), Charli Morris (9) and Laney Daniell (6).
- Jenna Otts recorded her first two 10-kill matches as a Lady Flame last weekend, while freshman Laney Daniell posted two five-block contests.
- Liberty went 3-0 at the Buffalo Invite, sweeping Marist and Buffalo on Friday before posting a reverse sweep of Rutgers on Saturday. It was the first time that Liberty won an in-season tournament since winning both the Liberty Tournament and Black Knights Invitational in 2023.
- Jeremy White begins his first season at Liberty. He served as head coach at Southeastern Louisiana for the last six years, posting a 113-58 record and leading the Lions to two NCAA Tournaments. Last year, Southeastern posted a nation-leading 24-match winning streak. White is a three-time Southland Conference Coach of the Year and four-time LSWA Louisiana Coach of the Year.
- Former Tulsa head coach Ryan Wills (2014-22) serves as an assistant coach on White's staff. Mackenzie Martin is in her first year as an assistant coach after finishing her collegiate playing career at The Citadel last season.
- The Lady Flames return to West Virginia for the first time since competing in the West Virginia Invitational in 2013.
- Prior to this year's opening day, the last time Liberty hit .300 or better in back-to-back matches was Nov. 6-13, 2022, when the Lady Flames hit .300+ in three straight contests.
- Liberty (3-0) is off to its best start since opening the 2023 season with an 8-0 record.
- With Liberty's roster turnover over the last two years, junior Charli Morris is the only Lady Flame on the 2025 roster left over from the 2023 season.
- Liberty welcomes 11 newcomers this season, including four transfers. Graduate students Zoe Hall (TCU) and Shyia Richardson (Louisiana) join the Lady Flames, along with junior Molly Littlefield (Gardner-Webb) and sophomore Layla Collins (Virginia Tech).
- Freshman Kayla O'Brien joins her older sister, sophomore Carly O'Brien, on the Lady Flames' roster. They are the first pair of sisters to play for Liberty Volleyball in the same season since Abby and Kate Phillips in 2021.
