Underwood, Combrinck and Livingston Tabbed to CSC Academic All-District® Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Reagan Underwood, Lou Combrinck and Ellie Livingston of the Liberty field hockey team were each tabbed to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team for their efforts in the classroom, as announced this afternoon by CSC.
Underwood earns the award for a second straight year, while Combrinck and Livingston are both first-time honorees. To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a starter or key reserve, have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or have started 66 percent of the team's total games and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Underwood, Combrinck and Livingston are each eligible for consideration for the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team, with voting beginning for the teams. The first, second and third team Academic All-America honorees for the at-large division will be released on July 8.
Underwood, a fifth-year senior midfielder, is currently pursuing a master's degree in professional communication: promotional & video communication. She holds a 3.97 GPA in her graduate studies. The Sinking Spring, Pa., native obtained a bachelor's degree from Liberty in December 2023, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA as a digital media and journalism major. Underwood is a four-time NFHCA Scholar of Distinction, four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad member and four-time BIG EAST All-Academic team honoree. Underwood received the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award for field hockey during the fall 2021 campaign.
During her final season with the Lady Flames, Underwood earned NFHCA All-America second team recognition. She earned several other awards, including: NFHCA All-South Region first team, All-BIG EAST first team, VaSID Co-Player of the Year, VaSID All-State first team and BIG EAST All-Tournament team. Underwood was also tabbed to the NFHCA Division I Senior Team.
Underwood started all 18 games for Liberty during her final year and tallied one goal, five assists, seven points and one defensive save. She leaves the Liberty field hockey program as the program's all-time leader in career starts (97) and ranks eighth in school history with 28 career assists. In her five seasons with the program, Underwood and the Lady Flames claimed two BIG EAST Championship titles and three BIG EAST regular season crowns and became the first team in school history to reach a national championship game (fall 2021 season).
Combrinck, a junior midfielder/forward, is majoring in special education and carries a 3.75 GPA. The Hillcrest, South Africa native is a two-time NFHCA National Academic Squad member and two-time BIG EAST All-Academic team honoree.
Combrinck enjoyed a strong junior campaign on the field as well, earning NFHCA All-South Region second team, All-BIG EAST second team and VaSID All-State second team recognition.
She finished the year with career highs in goals (8), assists (6) and points (22). Combrinck ranked first on the Lady Flames in points and second in both goals and assists.
Combrinck earned two BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week awards this year (Sept. 17 and Oct. 22). She notched her first career three-goal game in a 9-0 home victory over Quinnipiac on Oct. 18. Combrinck scored Liberty's only goal in a 1-0 win over No. 4 Duke, Sept. 15. Combrinck notched a career-best two assists to go along with a goal and four points in a 5-0 triumph over William & Mary (Sept. 13).
Livingston, a senior midfielder, graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, achieving a 3.95 GPA. She is a four-time NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honoree, four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad member and three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team selection.
On the field hockey pitch, Livingston appeared in all 18 games during her final season, making 17 starts. She notched career highs in goals (5) and points (11). Livingston tallied her first career two-goal game in a 6-0 win over Georgetown (Nov. 1) to close out the regular season and help Liberty secure a spot in the BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship for a ninth straight year. The senior from Lancaster, Pa., also scored the lone goal of the game in the Lady Flames' 1-0 road BIG EAST win at Villanova (Oct. 11).
