
Field Hockey’s Isaacs and Mokoena Named to South Africa Senior Women’s Squad

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Paris Gail-Isaacs and Ntsopa Mokeona of the Liberty field hockey program have both been selected to the 2026 South Africa Senior Women's Squad.
The 32-player squad will come together for an upcoming training camp in preparation for the 2026 FIH Women's World Cup, which will be held Aug. 15-30. The prestigious event, featuring 16 teams, will be co-hosted by Wavre, Belgium and Amstelveen, Netherlands.
Isaacs and Mokoena both represented South Africa at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Isaacs completed her first season at Liberty this past fall (2025), appearing in 16 games with 14 starts for the BIG EAST regular season and tournament champion Lady Flames (17-3, 7-0 BIG EAST). Isaacs, who has 18 international caps to her credit, was the youngest member of the South African squad at the Olympics and also participated in the FIH Hockey Women's Junior Cup in Santiago, Chile this past December. She was also a member of the South African U21 national team as well.
Meanwhile, Mokoena also played in the Junior World Cup in both 2025 and 2023. She has earned 49 international caps to date. Mokoena will be a freshman this upcoming fall, with her addition to the program having been announced back on May 6.
This will be the 16th edition of the FIH Women's World Cup.
