LYNCHBURG, Va. – In its final non-conference game of the season, the Lady Flames (10-6) fell 17-6 on the road at No. 12 James Madison (10-4) on Wednesday evening.
Katie Colavito netted a team-leading three goals while Olivia Young, Taiva Reinertson and Amelia Loughery each added one. Mackenzie Lehman recorded two assists.
Rachel Hines tied a career-high with 15 saves on 41 shots.
The Dukes kicked off the game with three consecutive goals. The Lady Flames fought back, scoring two of the next three to cut the lead to 4-2. JMU scored the next four goals of the game before Liberty stopped the bleeding with a Colavito tally.
JMU grabbed the final goal of the first half, kick-starting a stretch of five consecutive tallies. At the end of the run at the 11:12 mark of the second quarter, the Dukes held a commanding 13-3 lead. The rest of the game, JMU outscored Liberty 4-3, closing the contest with the final score of the game.
Liberty falls to 0-5 all-time against JMU and drops to 4-4 on the road this season.

Liberty kept it close in the first quarter, trailing 5-2 going into the break. The Dukes opened the quarter with three consecutive scores, initiated by Maddie Epke (13:33). Neither team would score over the next nine minutes of play before Peyton Root found the back of the net.
The Lady Flames answered with a Colavito tally (3:40) before JMU answered back to stretch the lead back to 9-3. Liberty was unable to mount a scoring stretch as the Dukes continued to add goals with four straight to open the second half.
