LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty held off a seventh-inning rally by Kennesaw State, hanging on for a 3-2 win over the Owls on Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames improve to 19-4 on the season, including 2-0 in CUSA play following its seventh straight win. Liberty has clinched this weekend's series victory and goes for the sweep tomorrow. The Owls fall to 8-16, 0-2 in conference games.

- Liberty built a 3-0 lead, getting an RBI single from KK Madrey in the fourth and two-run single from Rachel Roupe in the fifth.
- Kaylan Yoder pitched her way out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh and was one out away from the shutout before Hannah Harvey hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh. Elena Escobar came on to strike out the final batter and nail down the save.
- Liberty outhit KSU 7-5 for the game. The Owls left seven runners on base, compared to six stranded by the Lady Flames. Â
- Yoder (3-1) earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits, walking five and striking out a career-high 11 batters in 6 2/3 innings pitched. Escobar earned her second save of the season, striking out the only batter she faced.
- Kenley Hilleary (3-3) drew the loss, yielding three runs on six hits, walking two and fanning two in 4 1/3 innings.
- Rachel Roupe went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, while KK Madrey batted 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Savanah Whatley (1-for-3) doubled and scored.
- For KSU, Hannah Harvey went 2-for-3 with two RBI.Â
