
Lady Flames Ready for CUSA Series at WKU

Liberty (21-4, 3-0 CUSA) continues its 10-game road swing with a three-game set at WKU (14-9, 1-2). Due to threatening weather in the Bowling Green, Ky., area, the series will begin with a 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) doubleheader on Friday followed by a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (noon CT).

- This weekend's series features a rematch of the 2024 CUSA Championship title game, which Liberty won over WKU 4-3 on a ninth-inning walk-off double by Savannah Jessee.
- Liberty is ranked No. 24 in the Softball America Top 25 Poll this week. The Lady Flames are 25th in the D1Softball.com Top 25 and 24th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll.
- The Lady Flames bring a nine-game winning streak into the weekend. After sweeping KSU to wrap up its 13-game homestand, Liberty powered to a 17-6, five-inning win at Marshall on Tuesday. In that game, Rachel Roupe homered twice, Brynn McManus went deep and freshman Alexia Carrasquillo hit her first career grand slam. Carrasquillo has homered three times in the last two games.
- Liberty leads Conference USA in batting average (.345), runs (173), RBI (150), on base percentage (.422) and sacrifice flies (16), while ranking second in team ERA (2.06) and first in strikeouts (160).
- Rachel Roupe was named CUSA Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. She batted 8-for-13 (.615) with three doubles, one homer, eight RBI and three runs scored last week.
- Elena Escobar was named CUSA Pitcher of the Week on Monday after going 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, .163 opponents' batting average, one shutout, one save, two walks and 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings pitched.
- KK Madrey bats .449 while ranking leading CUSA with 23 steals. Oregon State transfers Savanah Whatley (.381) and Paige Doerr (.364) have both provided a spark. Savannah Woodard (.367) leads the team with 25 runs scored, while Savannah Jessee bats .308. 2025 CUSA Preseason Player of the Year Rachel Roupe (.363) leads the Lady Flames in doubles (10), homers (7) and RBI (31). 2024 CUSA Tournament MVP Brooke Roberts (.295) is second on the team with 19 RBI, while Brynn McManus hits .307 with three homers and 18 RBI. Campbell transfer Alyssa Henault is 5-for-9 (.556) as a pinch hitter.
- Four different Lady Flames (Allen, Bachman, Escobar, Oubre) have one shutout apiece this season. Senior Paige Bachman is 5-1 with a team-leading 1.54 ERA and 40 strikeouts. Freshman Danner Allen is 2-1 with a 1.81 ERA and a team-best .152 opponents' batting average. 2024 NFCA All-Region second team pitcher Elena Escobar holds an 8-1 record and 2.21 ERA, while Tyler Oubre is 3-0 with a 2.14 ERA. Kaylan Yoder (3-1, 2.88) struck out a career-high 11 batters last Saturday against Kennesaw State.
