Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
I wanted to be surrounded by believers of Christ walking in the same direction. I chose Liberty because when I went on a visit you can immediately feel the spiritual freedom within the place. Every person I met, whether my new coaches, the kind academic advisor, or even the employee at the bookstore, had a light that they were not afraid to shine. God is moving at Liberty University and I am lucky to have the chance to be a part of it.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I write in my prayer notebook to allow me to play calm and free.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My mom is my hero. She has had so many trials come her way and she has handled them all with perseverance and elegance. She is the strongest women I know raising me and my three sisters alone. She taught us the only thing we can control is continuing on the path towards Christ no matter how hard it may feel. My mom is the hardest worker I know, and I strive to be just like the independent women she is.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
I wear number 46, it’s important to me because it is my stepdad’s number. He has been more of a dad to me and my sisters than anyone else. He took us all in as if we are his own.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My mom, Melissa Coe, (now Melissa Dorman) caught at the university of Oregon. Abby Doerr, my sister, played at University of Alabama and University of Oregon State with me. My Dad (sort of step dad but we call him dad), Richard Dorman, played baseball at Oregon State and Corban University, eventually getting drafted by the Tampa Bays and finishing his professional career for the Mariners.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
My favorite meal is a classic cheeseburger, fries, and Dr. Pepper. I love all foods, but this classic meal is hard to beat.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
I check my text messages.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Either coaching or reading.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
I have two English Mastiffs named Lulu and Cooper.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Dennis Rodman
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
I am a terrible singer, so I stay away from the karaoke machine.
