LYNCHBURG, Va. – A new season kicks off this weekend for Liberty women's lacrosse as it heads up the road to battle No. 9 Virginia on Friday and hosts No. 4 North Carolina on Sunday. Friday's tilt is set for 4 p.m. from Klockner Stadium and will be broadcast on ACCNX. Sunday's contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first draw and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Liberty takes on Virginia and UNC in its first two games for the second consecutive season. A year ago, The Lady Flames fell at home 14-6 to No. 16 Virginia (Feb. 9) and were taken down 19-6 by No. 6 UNC on the road (Feb. 13). Liberty seeks its first-ever victory over either program and looks to avoid an 0-2 all-time mark against Virginia and an 0-5 record against UNC.

The Lady Flames featured three players on the Preseason All-ASUN team, headlined by Preseason Midfielder of the Year Katie Colavito. Attacker Mackenzie Lehman and defender Madeleine Klunder also represented Liberty on the Preseason All-ASUN team.
The quest for the 2025 ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship runs through Lynchburg, Va. this season. Liberty will be the host site for the event regardless of seeding. The three-day event begins on May 1 and concludes May 3.
