
Lady Flames Wrap Up 4-0 Weekend, Down Hofstra, Radford

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty wrapped up a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Liberty Softball Classic, defeating both Hofstra (8-0, 5 innings) and Radford (3-2) on Sunday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames, ranked as highly as 20th nationally in polls this week, improve to 12-3 on the season. Hofstra (0-9) went winless this weekend, while Radford (6-8) posted a 1-3 record while in Lynchburg.

- The Lady Flames burst out of the gates in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs. Brooke Roberts got the scoring going with an RBI single, while Alyssa Henault and JaMaya Byrum both smashed three-run homers.
- Liberty outhit Hofstra 7-1, with the Pride's lone hit coming in the first inning. Hofstra committed three errors compared to one for the Lady Flames.
- Freshman Danner Allen (1-0) earned her first career win, tossing a one-hit shutout during which she struck out a career-high eight batters.
