LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty kept its home dominance going, defeating Saint Joseph's 9-2 on Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Softball Stadium.
The 20th-ranked Lady Flames improve to 10-3 on the season, including 2-0 in the Liberty Softball Classic. Meanwhile, the Hawks (5-3) have gone 1-2 this weekend in Lynchburg.

Liberty wraps up the weekend with two games tomorrow, facing Hofstra at Noon before bringing the Liberty Softball Classic to a close with a 4 p.m. game against Radford.

Turning Point
- The Lady Flames jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings.
 - The Hawks loaded the bases with one out in the top of the fifth. Danner Allen then came on in relief of Kaylan Yoder, allowing one inherited runner to score while limiting the damage. Allen retired the last seven batters she faced.
 
- The Lady Flames outhit the Hawks 8-2 for the game, with both teams committing an error.
 - Kaylan Yoder (2-1) earned the win, allowing two runs on one hit, walking eight and striking out four in 4 1/3 innings. Danner Allen picked up her first career save, tossing 2 2/3 innings of one-hit relief with five strikeouts.
 - SJU starter Taylor Trowbridge (1-2) drew the loss, yielding six runs on six hits, walking seven and fanning two in five innings.
 - Brooke Roberts went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, three RBI and two runs scored. Savannah Whatley went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Rachel Roupe batted 2-for-3 with one RBI and one double. KK Madrey went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored.
 
- Liberty is 2-3 all-time against Saint Joseph's in softball. The Hawks had won the last two meetings. Liberty's last win over SJU before today was March 26, 1999.
 - The Lady Flames scored in eight straight innings prior to going scoreless in the bottom of the fourth, a stretch which began in the seventh inning against Auburn on Sunday.
 - Prior to Saint Joseph's run scored in the third inning today, Liberty had not allowed a run in the previous 16 innings in a row. That streak began in the first inning of Liberty's game against Auburn on Sunday.
 - The Lady Flames drew eight walks for the second game in a row.
 - Liberty tied a program single-game record with three sacrifice flies, with the last time being March 8, 2020 against New Mexico.
 - Rachel Roupe is now tied with Autumn Bishop for third in program history with 150 career RBI, becoming the fourth Lady Flame all-time with 150 RBI. She is now fifth in program history with 86 career extra-base hits.
