LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Liberty volleyball team has received four Conference USA honors, with three all-conference second team players and one member of the All-Freshman Team. The postseason CUSA honors, announced this afternoon, were nominated and voted on by the conference's 12 head coaches.
Junior outside hitter Jenna Otts, sophomore outside hitter Carly O'Brien and sophomore right-side hitter Paige Overcash were all voted to the CUSA Volleyball All-Conference second team. Setter Alison Bierwagen was named to the CUSA Volleyball All-Freshman Team.
Liberty's three all-conference selections are its most since 2023, when the Lady Flames had four CUSA All-Conference players (one first team, three second team).
Otts receives her second career all-conference award, as she was a Big South All-Conference second team honoree as a freshman at Gardner-Webb in 2023.
Overcash was named CUSA Offensive Player of the Week each of the first three weeks of the season. O'Brien followed as Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 22, while Otts was voted CUSA Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 29.

She set a program single-match 25-point rally-scoring record with 31 kills in a 3-2 victory at Houston. Later in the season, she totaled 28 kills and 20 digs on Nov. 7 at Missouri State. In Liberty's rally-scoring history, only O'Brien and Amelia Johnson (2019) have posted multiple matches with 28 or more kills in the same season.

She scored 18 kills at a .586 clip on Sept. 5 at previously unbeaten West Virginia and sent down a season-high 20 kills against FIU, Oct. 24. The junior recently completed a streak with 11 straight double-digit kill contests.
Hailing from Ashe County, N.C., Overcash is one of the most electrifying right-side attackers in the conference. She averages 3.30 kills per set overall (seventh in CUSA) while ranking 10th in CUSA with 3.21 kills per set during conference matches. Overcash has registered 22 double-digit kill matches, scoring 10 or more kills in 11 out of the last 12 matches. On Sept. 13 against East Carolina, she scored a career-high 30 kills, becoming the first Lady Flame since 2001 with a 30-kill match. She added 20+-kill matches against both Middle Tennessee (22) and Coppin State (21). Twice this season, Aug. 30 vs. Rutgers and Oct. 10 vs. Kennesaw State. Overcash scored 12 or more kills at a .500 pace or better.
Bierwagen has been Liberty's top setter during her first collegiate season after graduating from DeLand High School in DeLand, Fla. She ranks fifth in CUSA with 7.17 assists per set overall and fourth with 0.40 aces per set. In conference play, she is eighth among CUSA players in assists per set (6.29) and fifth in aces per set (0.41). She has posted 10 double-doubles, the most by a Liberty freshman setter since Kallie Corbin's 17 in 2006. Bierwagen also went on a 10-point serving run to start the Louisiana Tech match on Sept. 26.
The fifth-seeded Lady Flames (20-9, 8-8 CUSA) will compete against host team, No. 4 seed FIU (18-11, 12-4) in the CUSA Volleyball Championship quarterfinal on Friday at 2 p.m. in Miami, Fla.
