
Liberty Leads ECU 110-75 After Day 1

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty holds a 110-75 lead over East Carolina after day one of this weekend's season-opening meet, Friday at Liberty Natatorium.
This is Liberty's first meet as members of the American Conference, which the swimming & diving team joined as associate members on July 1, 2025.
The meet has special significance to the program, as the Lady Flames are raising funds and awareness for cancer research. It will also be the team's alumnae recognition meet, thanking alumnae for their contributions in building a championship program.
Liberty Event Winners
The Lady Flames and Pirates will wrap up this weekend's meet tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Liberty Natatorium. Liberty will honor its alumnae with a ceremony prior to tomorrow's first race.

- Fr. Emma Herrera – 500 freestyle (4:59.56)
- Fr. Gwyneth Frick – 100 backstroke (53.91)
- So. Aly Bozzuto – 50 freestyle (23.43); 100 breaststroke (1:02.57)
- Jr. Kamryn Cannings – 200 freestyle (1:51.04)
- Fr. Riley Leach – 400 IM (4:22.38)
- 200 freestyle relay – 1:33.36 (Kamryn Cannings – 23.55; Gwyneth Frick – 23.64; Natalie Colarossi – 23.34; Aly Bozzuto – 22.83)
- Liberty won both relays, while claiming six out of the eight individual events. ECU earned victory in three-meter diving and the 100 fly.
- Liberty's Aly Bozzuto won two events (50 free, 100 breaststroke), while three Liberty freshmen (Emma Herrera – 500 free; Gwyneth Frick – 100 back; Riley Leach – 400 IM) were victorious in their first meet.
- The Lady Flames posted 1-2 finishes in the 200 medley relay, 500 free (Emma Herrera, Kaycee Cannings) and 100 breaststroke (Aly Bozzuto, Gwyneth Frick), while ECU went 1-2-3 in three-meter diving and 1-2 in the 100 fly.
- Kamryn Cannings edged ECU's Heidi Bruning by 0.28 seconds (1:51.04 to 1:51.32) in the most closely-contested finish.
- Frick's 25.69 leadoff of the 200 medley relay ranks eighth on Liberty's program top 10 performers list in the 50 backstroke.
- With her 53.91 tonight, Frick ranks fifth all-time at Liberty in the 100 backstroke. She is the sixth Lady Flame to break 54 seconds in the 100 back.
- Leach now ranks eighth on Liberty's all-time top 10 performers list for the 400 individual medley, at 4:22.38.
