Six Liberty Players Score Goals in 7-1 Road Win at Longwood, Sunday

FARMVILLE, Va. – Six Liberty players scored goals in a 7-1 road win at Longwood, Sunday afternoon at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field.
Morena Giacosa notched her first career two-goal game, and Madie Baker tallied her first career goal in the contest. Julieta Tornati, Avery pollock, Dara Semmartin and Tori Griffiths also notched goals. Semmartin and Mia Santana dished out two assists apiece, with Santana's effort being her first career multiple-assist game.
Liberty moves to 14-2 following the non-conference win. The Lady Flames went 2-0 this weekend, also defeating Temple 3-2 (3-1 penalty shootouts) on the road on Friday to secure at least a share of the BIG EAST regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the BIG EAST Championship. Longwood falls to 4-12 on the year after its second straight setback and fourth loss in the last five contests.

Liberty took control of the game early on, scoring three times in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead after 15 minutes. The Lady Flames' first goal came in the sixth minute from the stick of Morena Giacosa on a penalty corner redirect, assisted by Dara Semmartin. In the seventh minute, Liberty doubled its lead, as Julieta Tornati found the back of the cage on a penalty corner for her fourth goal of 2025. With less than a minute to play in the opening quarter, Avery Pollock notched her third goal of the year, scoring following a Mia Santana feed into the circle.
Early in the second quarter, Giacosa scored again on another penalty corner feed from Semmartin. Liberty led 4-0 at the break. The Lancers' Channy Johnson scored on a rebound in the 31st minute for the hosts' lone goal of the match. The Lady Flames tacked on three more goals in the third frame, as Semmartin (penalty stroke), Tori Griffiths and Madie Baker all scored. Baker's goal, the first of her career, came at the 42:52 mark. Baker drove the right side and found the back of the cage despite a challenging angle for a 7-1 Liberty advantage.
