
Faust’s 4th Quarter Goal Pushes No. 7 Liberty Past Georgetown 1-0

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Kyleigh Faust's fourth quarter goal pushed No. 7 Liberty past Georgetown 1-0, Friday afternoon in BIG EAST Conference action at Kehoe Field in the nation's capital.
Faust's first goal in nearly two years secured Liberty's sixth straight win overall. The Lady Flames improve to 10-1 and stay unbeaten and atop the BIG EAST standings at 4-0. Liberty's shutout was its sixth of the season in its 11 games.
Georgetown falls to 3-9 on the year and 0-4 in league play.
Faust's last goal prior to today came two seasons ago (Oct. 27, 2023) against the Georgetown Hoyas in a game that was played at Towson's TU Field Hockey Complex. Liberty held advantages in shots (19-2), shots on goal (13-0) and penalty corners (16-0) this afternoon.

Early in the fourth quarter, Liberty earned its first penalty corner of the frame and cashed in. Following a Lou Combrinck insert and stick stop from Maite Altamirano, Kyleigh Faust fired a shot into the left side of the cage for a 1-0 lead at the 46:41 mark.
Despite a five-minute yellow card from the Lady Flames, the Liberty defense held Georgetown to a single shot over the final 13 minutes to preserve the victory.
