
Six Lady Flames Featured on CSC Academic All-District Team

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty women's soccer team placed six student-athletes on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Soccer team, the organization announced Tuesday. Liberty's forwards Halle Egle, Ivy Garner, Talor Mason, midfielder Bri Myers and defenders Lauren Littleton and Sallie Garner all received the recognition.
Ivy Garner is being awarded the honor for the second consecutive. Liberty's six recipients matched 2023's total.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or key reserve, a sophomore academically, have competed in at least 90 percent of their team's games or started 66 percent of matches and own a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.
Following the results of the academic all-district team, the ballot for the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team® will be eligible to be voted on. The first, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Dec. 11.
Halle Engle earned a 4.0 GPA in her major of exercise science: therapeutic sciences, also garnering a selection to the 2024 Conference USA All-Academic team this season. Engle led the Lady Flames with 12 goals and 27 points (three assists), leading to recognition on the CUSA All-Conference first team
Ivy Garner posted a 3.84 GPA in her major of interdisciplinary studies. Garner starred this season earning a selection to the CUSA All-Conference first team for the second consecutive season. The junior ranked second on Liberty with nine goals and 26 points while pacing the conference with eight assists. Garner finished the season with a nod to the CUSA All-Tournament team after scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over No. 3 seed New Mexico State in the semifinal round.
Taylor Mason earned a 3.71 GPA in her major of interdisciplinary studies. A senior, Mason plans to graduate from Liberty after playing in 56 games in her four years as a Lady Flame
Bri Myers, a graduate student, holds a 3.84 GPA in her M.B.A. after graduating with a 3.9 GPA in her major of management & leadership. A redshirt junior, Myers was named to the CUSA All-Conference second team after making 21 starts this season and playing over 1500 minutes. Myers finished the season with a nod to the 2024 CUSA All-Tournament team.
Lauren Littleton, a sophomore, earned a 4.0 GPA in her major of biomedical sciences. Littleton made 20 starts and played over 1650 minutes this past season, earning the CUSA Defensive Player of the Week award twice (Sept. 10 and Oct. 15).
Sallie Garner, posted a 3.92 GPA in her major of exercise science: strength & conditioning. A redshirt sophomore, Garner was selected to the CUSA All-Conference first team after receiving selections to the 2023 CUSA All-Freshman team. Garner made 21 starts in 2024, tallying five assists with a single goal in over 1500 minutes of play.
