Garner’s Hat Trick Springs Liberty Past UNCG 4-0
9/11/2025 10:31:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Ivy Garner opened the game in the 20' minute following a cross from Carly Keene that ended up at the forward's feet. She made easy work of the shot, burying the shot off the near post. Garner's game-opening goal was her third of the season.
Freshman Presley Kaiser added her first career goal and point to push the lead to 2-0 in the 44' minute. The defender exploded from the back line while receiving a pass from fellow freshman Brooklyn Jenkins, racing past the Spartans' defense to unleash a shot from the top of the penalty area into the top corner of the net.
Garner added a pair of goals in the second half within a minute of each other. She found space on the outside of the penalty area, receiving a pass from freshman Lauren Flax, who just turned the ball over, and sank a score in the 56' minute. The senior came back, capitalizing off long passes from defender Kayla Magee and Halle Engle and leaving no doubt, converting for the hat trick in the 57' minute.
Liberty picks up a win before they welcome No. 21 Kansas (5-0-2) to Lynchburg on Sunday. The home triumph improves the Lady Flames to 2-2-1 at Osborne Stadium. The Lady Flames are in the midst of a stretch of five consecutive home games, currently sporting a 2-0-1 mark.
