LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 18 Liberty will close out its regular season slate with a BIG EAST Conference game against Georgetown on Friday afternoon. Game time is 3 p.m. at the Liberty Field Hockey Field.
Friday's contest carries postseason implications, with the Lady Flames (9-7, 3-3 BIG EAST) needing a victory to secure a spot in the 2024 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship. Georgetown (3-12, 1-5 BIG EAST) has been eliminated from BIG EAST Tournament consideration. The Hoyas will face Longwood on the road, Sunday in their season finale.
Liberty is looking to qualify for the BIG EAST Championship for a ninth straight season. The Lady Flames and Hoyas are meeting in what is Liberty's last regular season match for the second straight year. - Liberty is looking to snap a two-game losing skid. Most recently, the Lady Flames fell 3-2 at James Madison on Tuesday. Senior forward Tuti Dell Anna led the squad with two goals and paces the team with 10 goals in 2024. She ranks fifth in the BIG EAST and 32nd nationally with 10 goals this season.
- The Lady Flames boast a 10-0 all-time mark against the Hoyas, including a 7-0 record since joining the BIG EAST.
