Livingston’s Late 4th Quarter Goal Lifts No. 19 Liberty Past Villanova 1-0

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – Pennsylvania native and senior midfielder Ellie Livingston's goal in the 58th minute lifted visiting No. 19 Liberty past Villanova 1-0, Friday afternoon at the Villanova Field Hockey Field.
With the win, the Lady Flames improve to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the BIG EAST. Meanwhile, Villanova slips 7-6 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Liberty Field Hockey Head Coach Nikki Parsley-Blocker earned career win No. 100 as head coach of the program today. She is the winningest coach in program history and sports a 100-47 record (.680 winning percentage) in eight seasons at the helm.

Liberty finally broke through for the game's only goal with only 2:10 left in regulation (57:50 mark). Tuti Dell Anna dribbled into the circle and put a shot on cage that was knocked into the air into the middle of the circle by Villanova goalkeeper Maddi Sears. The Lady Flames' Ellie Livingston batted the rebound out of the air past Sears into the left side of the net to put Liberty ahead 1-0.
The Lady Flames' defense held firm in the closing minutes, keeping the Villanova attack at bay with no shots in the closing 2:10.
