The Friars trailed 1-0 at the break but answered early in the third quarter to knot the game at 1-all. Carly van Benten scored her ninth goal of the season from in front on a one-touch feed from Lily Procaccianti from the right side of the circle, beating goalkeeper Diane Saint Martin into the left side.
Liberty's go-ahead and insurance goals came in the 38th and 42nd minutes, respectively. On the first of the two tallies, Paris-Gail Isaacs drove the left baseline and send the ball to Clarisa Iudicello, who made a challenging reception and finished into the right side of the cage. The Lady Flames' third goal also came from the left side of the circle, with Josefina Tomasi sending a perfect ball to Pia Iapichino. Iapichino redirected the ball into the middle part of the cage for her sixth goal of the season and a 3-1 Liberty lead at the 41:21 mark.
The Friars won six of their seven penalty corners in the fourth period, but the Liberty defense and goalkeeper Diane Saint Martin (three saves) turned aside the opportunities to preserve the two-goal result.
