
Lipscomb Edges Liberty 2-1 in Series Opener

The Lipscomb Bisons slipped by the Liberty Flames 2-1 in their ASUN series opener, Friday at Ken Dugan Field.
Making his first start of the season, Bisons left-hander Logan Van Treeck pitched a complete game, allowing a run on three hits over the nine innings. He struck out seven and walked one.
All the scoring in the game came in the first inning. Liberty’s three hits in the game came in the first inning, jumping out to a 1-0 advantage. However, in the bottom of the inning, host Lipscomb got a home run from center fielder Alex Vergara and an inside the park home run by third baseman Trace Willhoite put the Bisons in front 2-1.
Liberty drops to 3-4 in the ASUN and 11-14 overall. Lipscomb improves to 5-2 in conference and 10-15 overall.
