The visiting Blue Hens jumped out to a 5-1 lead through 6 1/2 innings, only to see the Flames answer with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to close to within one at 5-4.
Delaware reliever Ryan McLaughlin then held Liberty off the scoreboard in the final two innings to seal the win.
Liberty shortstop Tanner Marsh led all players in the contest with three hits. He had an RBI and scored two runs.
