
No. 6 Liberty to Close Out Regular Season at Georgetown, Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 6 Liberty will close out its regular season slate with a BIG EAST matchup with Georgetown, Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. The game will be played at the TU (Towson) Field Hockey Complex in Towson, Md.
A win on Friday would give the Lady Flames the outright BIG EAST regular season title for the second time in the last three seasons. Last Friday, Liberty topped Connecticut 3-0 to earn a share of the regular season crown for the third straight year.
Liberty brings a 15-1 overall record and 6-0 BIG EAST mark into Friday's contest. The Lady Flames have won 10 games in a row. Meanwhile, Georgetown sits at 1-15 and 0-6 in the BIG EAST. Liberty has also locked up the No. 1 seed for next week's BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship.
The Lady Flames are ranked sixth in the country in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll for the second straight week. Liberty is also sixth in the current NCAA Field Hockey RPI listing.

- Liberty is 9-0 all-time versus Georgetown and 6-0 against the Hoyas in BIG EAST play. Last season, the Lady Flames bested the Hoyas 10-0 in Lynchburg.
- Lady Flames fifth-year senior Jodie Conolly earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week, fourth time this season and fifth time in her career. Conolly notched her first career three-goal game in a Liberty uniform in the win over UConn.
- Conolly has five goals in her last two games and leads the team in goals (9) and points (28) while sharing the team lead in assists (10).
- Senior goalkeeper Azul Iritxity Irigoyen garnered inclusion on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time this season and fourth of her career. She recorded a four-save shutout in the victory against the Huskies.
- Fifth-year senior Bethany Dykema and senior Lexi Hosler recorded three assists apiece in the triumph over UConn. Dykema is the program's all-time leader in assists with 44 for her career, which is the second most among active Division I players.
- Iritxity Irigoyen ranks fourth nationally in goals-against-average (0.73) and fourth in the country in save percentage (.815) and leads the BIG EAST in both categories. The senior netminder is 15-1 on the season with 53 total saves and six shutouts to her credit.
- As a team, the Lady Flames are second in the country in goals-against-average (0.71), fifth in save percentage (.824) and shutouts per game (0.44) and sixth in scoring margin (1.96). Liberty leads the BIG EAST in goals-against-average and save percentage.
- Liberty finished with a 9-0 regular season home record, its second unbeaten home regular season in program history. The spring 2021 squad finished 7-0 at home.
- Georgetown is playing all of its 2023 home schedule at Towson. This will be the first time Liberty has played a game at the TU Field Hockey Complex.
