Liberty made a thrilling comeback in the second half Thursday night at Osborne Stadium against in-state rival, Virginia Tech. After being down 5-0, Liberty scored three goals in the final 14 minutes but in the end the Lady Flames fell to the Hokies 5-3. Liberty concludes the regular season with a 3-5-5 record while Virginia Tech improves to 8-8.

Liberty's backline was under heavy pressure from the opening whistle as the Hokies attempted six shots with four on goal and five corner kicks within the first 15 minutes of the game. Midway through the first half Virginia Tech scored a pair of goals within a four-minute span to take the lead at half. After being down five goals with 21 minutes left in the game, Liberty responded with a valiant comeback attempt sparked by Kasey Jamieson. Within a three-minute span, Jamieson would score two goals and Sonia Meyer followed up with her first career goal as the Lady Flames scored three goals in a 12-minute span.
