LYNCHBURG, Va. – Former Liberty midfielder, Briana Myers (2021-25), has signed a professional contract and will start her pro career in Iceland.
Myers will compete for Vestri FC in Ísafjörður, a town at the northwest tip of Iceland. Their season runs from late April to mid-September. The team plays in the 2 deild kvenna league.
At Liberty, Myers played a vital role as a defensive midfielder in head coach Lang Wedemeyer's system. She helped lead the Lady Flames to a 2025 Conference USA Championship and two finishes as conference title runners-up.
Myers logged over 3,800 minutes in a Lady Flames kit across four seasons played (missed 2023 due to an injury). As a team captain, she totaled three goals and six assists, including all three goals and three assists in her senior season (2025).
"We are super excited for Bri. We know that she will make the most of this opportunity," Wedemeyer said. "She has worked so hard and come so far in the last five years. We can't wait to see how she represents both Christ and Liberty on her team in Iceland."
The Troutville, Va. native was named to the CUSA All-Conference first team in 2025 and was also named to the CUSA All-Conference third team in 2024.
Myers represented the program in the classroom in addition to her success on the field. The Lord Botetourt alum was a two-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District team (2024, 25).
Myers is the second former Lady Flame to sign a professional contract this spring. Ivy Garner (Younce) signed a short-term contract with the NC Courage in March.
